Okay,
so we all know that life isn’t all like what you see in
the movies, but some things are. For an example, an Elle Woods
quote: “We are lawyers; we have to fight for justice.
And this is definitely unjust.”
Yes,
cue eye rolling, dramatic sighs and groans of “We’re
not lawyers you LOSER”, but I had figured out that much.
The point is that animal testing really isn’t just and
we may not be lawyers but are we not girls? And do girls not
wear make up? And is that not what is being tested on animals?
I think so. And I’m so not suggesting that we totally
abandon all make up and live like cave people (no offense, guys)
but there are so many companies out there who don’t test
their products on animals. For example, THE BODY SHOP is a totally
animal-testing-free-zone as are many other companies like George
Astor. You just have to look a little closer at the packaging!
It will be stated clearly.
It’s
surprising how few people know what goes on behind closed doors
in animal testing factories. Like, did you know that a sample
of your favourite shampoo has more than likely been dripped
into the eyes of a dog? Maybe a hamster? A guinea pig? Have
you ever gotten shampoo in your eyes? Hello, can you say painful??
That gorgeous lipstick you got the other day: how would you
like to swallow it? That’s what these animals are made
to do. To make sure it’s not poisonous. And if it is?
Oops, better luck next time. And with the next hamster, obviously,
seeing as that one’s now dead! And your beautiful hair!
Would you like it all shaved off in favour of having chemicals
rubbed into your skin? I’ll bet those animals don’t
but what choice do they have? You’re the only ones who
can save them. And you're not doing it!!
So
you always wanted to be a doctor to save a patient’s life,
but then discovered your grades weren’t good enough. Save
someone else’s life; buy your next pet from the pound.
Look after a stray, because if you don’t, then someone
else will. And that someone else will be from an animal testing
company. You are saving their lives. If the lipstick, or the
chemicals, or the shampoos don’t kill them, you can be
sure as hell that the gases will. They can’t keep the
animals forever…. they gas them to death. It’s an
animal concentration camp! It’s their lives!! And you
can save them. If you care enough, you know you can save them.
The
question is: are you going to?
