All About the Llama

Llamas are one of the coolest animals in the world. They come from pure white to every shade of brown or gray. They also come in black and some of them even have dark plum coats! Llamas are prized for their wool. For just a little money, you can send their wool to a pool of workers where they spin it, turn it into yarn and send it back to you to knit into a beautiful sweater or coat. Llamas are also good for pack animals and are fun to ride. It's true that they sometimes spit, but rarely at people! Mostly they spit at other llamas. Some people call them "mean lean spitting machines", but that isn't very fair. Most of the time it isn't spit either, just digested plants!

Llama Facts

Llamas don't need a lot of land compared to most livestock. They just need 1/4 of an acre per llama.

Llamas are very clean too! They won't go in the barn but make a communal dung pile which means no mucking out the barn!

Llamas are like mules sheep and camels. Except for the hump, they look a lot like a camel and they are closly related.

When one Llama is angry at another Llama they will stick their tongues out to express their dislike! A Llama can spit green partialy digested food fifteen feet or more, and they are pretty good shots too!
