Party-giver's Need to Know List

  1. What forms do you need filled out and signed to make your dance official? When do they need to be in by?



  2. What kinds of permissions are necessary to use school or community facilities?

  3. Can you use the school or community hall or do you need to rent a hall?

  4. Does this hall have a facilities charge?

  5. Do they have an attendance minimum/maximum?

  6. Do you have a budget to cover the expense of decorations? Will the community center or school help cover them?

  7. Do you have a budget to cover the expense of refreshments? Will the communty center or school help cover them?

  8. Do you have to raise money to cover the band?

  9. Do you have use of the school or community center's sound system?

  10. Do you have use of the school or community center's stage?

  11. Do you have to pay for security, or is that covered in the rental fee? Or does the school or community center have a budget for security?

  12. What adult is in charge of lighting and sound and facilities?

  13. What adult is in charge of janitorial?

  14. What rules does the school or community center have about hanging decorations in the hall?

  15. What rules does the school or community have about dealing with outside vendors, like a band?

  16. What rules does the school or community want you to follow for ticket sales and handling money?

  17. By what date should we have our written authorization approving our dance by your school or community authorities? What are the possible hold ups? How do we get things moving?
