Final Touches
spider

Outside

  1. Arrange your pumpkins in a cluster around the base of your hanging scarecrow. Or, lay the scarecrow in front of your pumpkins, as if he were laying there dead.

  2. Ask a girlfriend to help you stretch the spider webbing down the front of the hanging scarecrow to the ground.

  3. You can also spiderweb the scarecrow, or the entrance to your front door.

  4. Add spiders and insects and fake snakes.

  5. Place foil squares or jar lids inside the pumpkins.

  6. Put candles on top of the foil or jar lids. You can use mini flashlights or chemical lights too.

  7. When it's dark, light the candles.

  8. Dim the lights and play spooky background music from a portable player.

  9. Happy haunting outside!

Inside

  1. Pick your party place: garages, basements, bedrooms and dining rooms are easy to "haunt". 2. Any room becomes a "Fright House" when the lights are dimmed. Set pictures at an angle as if "ghostly fingers" moved them. Pull spider webbing across doors and over tables. Decorate with fake insects.

  2. Take old white sheets and wash them in black Ritz dye. Rinse them immediately so the sheets will look grey. "Tatter" the sheet edges and drape them over chairs and sofas for that "haunted house" look.

  3. Soft flickering lights are available at your local hardware store. Replace regular light bulbs in your lamps with blue or black lights.

  4. Helium balloons covered with old tattered sheets and painted, scary faces make great ghosts to bob in the corner of the room.

  5. Don't forget to top off the mood with some scary music.

Have a frightful good time!
Your cyber-friend,
-Rachel
