Bravest Mom on the Web - 2007Megan's Mom!
The bravest moms on the web are our Girl's World Moms. Our moms work hard to keep up with us. They hold broken families together and keep warring siblings apart. They fight to make our dreams come true. They take risks, rescue animals, face angry bosses and save kids in trouble. Every girl who wrote us about her mom knows how brave she is every day. It was hard to pick just a few stories to share from thousands of entries. Everyone who wrote in deserves to be a winner. When
I was two years old,
my aunt and uncle were going though a terrible divorce that is still causing
conflicts in our lives today. But the real problem was that they had three
great children during their marriage. Those wonderful kids were only 12,
9, and 4 years old. That, is where my mother came in. She took them all
in as her own with full intentions of caring for them until such time
when their own parents could care for them again. Sadly, that day never
did come. She raised my three cousins, my two brothers and me nearly single-handedly,
seeing as how my father was currently working out of state. She worked
as a basic nurse to support her kids, but with six mouths to feed she
needed a better career. So she worked, and raised us full time and spent
several sleepless nights a week to become a registered nurse and earn
her degree online so she could give us all better lives. She has already
put four of us through collage and is about to send my youngest cousin
to school as well. All she's ever done is sacrifice for us. – Megan,
