Julissa is an award-winning teen journalist. She has competed in editorial, feature and headline writing. She hopes to one day become an editor or columnist for a major newspaper. What does Julissa have in common with the girls on AGW? She doesn't just read articles, she writes them. Like the 90 girl editors on our site, and every girl who writes an article, Julissa is a volunteer.
High school kids got together to speak for an animal who could not speak for themselves, when they took on the LA Zoo, bringing evidence of cruelty to elephants to the attention of Zoo authorities.

Meet Teens Making a Difference
"It's something useful to do in the summer instead of wasting your time," Alexis S of New Jersey commented on their two weeks spent volunteering at the Institute of Ecological Studies. The teens rebuilt trails, learned about invasive species and were jazzed about their new tractor-driving skills.
