Goals And Dreams

Brigid: In our club, we like to think about the future. I'm not sure what I want to do when I grow up. I know I want to do something big. Any ideas about what a girl should do to get ready for the rest of her life?

Shari: The rule around our house was, I could study anything that I wanted to study as long as I practiced it and studied it well while I was doing it. I could stop if I wanted and pick up something else. But while I was doing it, I had to do it well. And I think the best thing that a girl can do is to consider that this period of her life is like a bank. Any time you put in on something worthwhile will pay off dividends as you're older. And I will just suggest, study anything that anybody is willing to teach you -- anything! Because you never know what's going to come in handy.

Brigid: What are your goals and dreams?

Shari: I have a daughter that I love to be with. She is one of my writers and producers. She does all the editing on my show. And she and I were the first mother/daughter team ever to win an Emmy together.

Brigid: So, what's coming up next?

Shari: We have a Lamb Chop movie coming and I've just created a sitcom [a comedy on TV] which has been optioned. We'll see what happens with that. And I want to travel. We're going to go to South Africa this year.
