Erin wrote a Valentine's day poem to share with the club-- Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, but, HEY, love hurts! Well said, Erin! Erin is in 5th Grade and lives in Louisiana. She has a dog named Buttercup, two cats named Carbon and Shadow, and loves cats more than any other animal in the world!

Erin's favorite books are: Baby-Sitter's Club, Nancy Drew, Goosebumps, Beverly Cleary, etc., etc., etc.! She really enjoys reading! And she loves writing, too! Erin would love girls to write her through the Penpal Spectacular. Her number is 120632.

Erin writes that the clubhouse is not only cool, but makes her feel special to be a girl. She's glad that things have changed since her grandmother was a girl. She likes the rights girls have to do more, dance, swim, and be themselves.

Erin's message for the rest of the girls of the world is this: Stay sharp, stay cool, but most of all, handle things well.

Congratulations, Erin! You're our Featured Member for February, 1998!

The one question Erin would really like to ask all the other girls in the clubhouse is: "What will you give and get for Valentine's Day? How do you feel about getting and giving gifts?"

House Buzz

Dear Erin: Tons of cards. At my school, you have to give a card out to everyone or no one. That's the rules! But it's not very special if you give the same thing to everyone, is it? I like getting something somebody chose just for me. Not because everyone else gets the same thing.

Amy

Dear Erin: Cards! We're trading Anastasia cards. I like the ones with the holograms. Boys always give out Sports or Superman or Animaniacs. I like the romantic ones. What I don't like about giving and getting gifts? It's when someone gets a gift for me, and I didn't get them anything. I feel so embarrassed when that happens.

Geri

Dear Erin: What this girl will get -- a few cards from my sweet, sweet girlfriends. Sisters! Supermarket chocolate. What this girl wants to get. Roses! Godiva chocolate! A pair of diamond studearrings from my da. If you're looking for total taste in my family, it's my dad. He's a real jewelry hound. He always gets allhis girls something for V-Day.

Rachel

Dear Erin: Joke gifts! My bff's and I always try to get each other something for Val Day that makes us laugh. Last year I got heart shaped whoopie cushions and passed them out. Time together laughing is the best kind of gift to give and get!
