"There are a few wonderful sites that present utterly absorbing, enjoyable and comparatively safe places for pre-teenage and teen-age girls. In fact, I'm convinced that, taken together, Web sites like the ones reviewed here-- Girl Tech, Purple Moon and A Girl's World -- may just be the "killer app" for girls... A Girl's World is run by a staff of volunteers, almost all of whom are girls themselves. The result is an admirable, if unsophisticated, zine for girls (that is an) amazing testament to the creative energy of its visitors... A Girl's World Online Clubhouse is an incredible online experience just for girls. As "the space where girls rule the place" this monthly magazine is for girls of the 90s. There is so much you could do, you could stay for days. Make new friends, get to know women with dynamite careers, find directions for neat stuff you can make and lots more! Girls are in the clubhouse, waiting for you to come share your thoughts on a million different subjects. So go, girl, and have a blast at the place "where it's cool to be a girl!"

What Adults Say About AGW
I recently had the pleasure of visiting AGW and was thrilled with what I found! It's such a pleasure to see a magazine for girls that doesn't dwell on "hot hunks" or how to increase your (physical) appeal. Girls of this age desperately need to be valued for who they are, not for how close they come to some Hollywood ideal...it's wonderful that you profile women of true achievement, not just models and actresses. AGW was the first online site for girls recommended by CNN Interactive. Our Penpal Spectacular was cited by a major consumer reporting magazine. We've been awarded The Point's coveted "Top 5% of the Web" award and were cited as the best site on the web for girls by the San Diego Union Tribune. We've been featured in other media, such as the Los Angeles Times' Cutting Edge, on KFI 640 am radio, and by Family PC magazine, along with numerous other awards.
