Are We Friends or Enemies? I used to be best friends with this girl. We did everything together. But then, she started completely ignoring me to hang with the popular girls. Then, I found out that she did the same thing to 2 other girls to hang out with me. I feel really bad about that. But that isn't the problem. She never talks to me anymore, and she even quit wearing the friendship necklace I gave her because her new "friends" said it was tacky. I have confronted her about it twice because I thought she was mad at me. She keeps saying that I am still her best friend and that she didn't even realize that she was ignoring me. She still continues to ignore me,and I have decided not to be her friend anymore. But I don't know how to tell her, because she is always glued to the popular girls side. I don't want to call her because it would be like I was afraid to talk to her. Plus, if I did tell her we weren't friends the popular girls would spread terrible things all over school about me. I have seen it happen to other girls before. What should I do? - Kaitie, 12, USA "Hey, Kaitie!" Your friend doen not seem like a really great friend. If she did this to two other people I would run away and fast. Do you really need to have a friend who is too embarrassed to wear something special that you gave her? There is nothing wrong with calling her to tell her that you don't want to be friends but if you want to tell her in person, arrange for a day when she isn't around her popular friends. And another thing, there are so many nice girls out there who would love to be your friend so give them a chance.Everyone goes through at least one bad friendship in their lifetime but often because of one bad friendship, one great one can emerge.
