She
Hurts My Feelings and Just Won't Listen!
My best
friend and I are like sisters. We have everything in common and
we even look alike. She always tries to make me feel so jealous
of her, and it works, too! She can be very show-offy, conceited
and self-centered. I've tried everything, telling her the way I
feel, writing her notes, and even e-mailing her! But nothing I do
seems to get through to her. She just won't listen. How can I get
through to her? Is there something else I should have tried?
- Macie, 13, Alabama
"Hey,
Macie!" Well,
obviously you have tried talking to your friend, and she hasn't gotten
the point. First of all, I recommend that you don't let her get to
you. You must realize that when most people try to show off, they
are just doing it so they can feel better about themselves. Whatever
you do, don't let her bring you down. If jealousy is a problem, then
maybe you should show the world what you've got! Shine sister shine,
but don't let it get to your head either, or you'll end up just like
your friend. As for your friend, people will soon come to realize
her show-off manner and think much less of her and ,like you, not
enjoy being in her presensce when she is like this. Hopefully, she'll
get the point, but if she doesn't then don't worry, she is no better
than you are! 1.. Try working it out
with your friend, not just a quick email or note. I hope my advice has helped!
