How Can I Get Mom to Pay Attention to Me?

I have a problem communicating with my family. I don't know whether I have something wrong with me or not, but it seems that I want my Mum to show me more concern. I know she loves me but she doesn't show it. I feel a strong urge for her to love me and show more attention to me. I tried to show her that I need her love by ignoring her, and being bad, hoping that she will think that I need more attention from her. But it's been a while now she hasn't done anything. What can I do? - Laura, 15, Singapore

"Hey, Laura!" If I were you, I would try talking to your mom. I mean just go, "Mom can we
talk?" and see if she will talk to you. I really can't understand how you feel because I have a really great relationship with my mom.

You know why we have a great relationship? We have a great relationship beacuse we talk! Try talking with her and see if she will listen. If that doesn't work, you could always try talking to a counselor at your school or a friend's mom. If you live with your dad, you could try talking to him about it, also. If you want your mom to show she loves you, maybe you should start showing her how much you love he,r also. Then maybe things will begin to change. Hope this works!
