Eleven-year-old Brigid Cleary is the girl editor of "Talking About Friends." Brigid read through thousands of submissions from the readers of Agirlsworld.com to create this book.

Here is how Brigid describes herself: I think that I'm smart and fun to be around. For fun I like to play with my friends, read, watch t.v., and ride my scooter. I've been a member of A Girl's World since 1996. I think it's very fun to be a member of the crew. We've gotten a lot of publicity and awards since we've started. So now the club is more well known. We get to do cool stuff, like interview famous people, write articles that go on the web, write books, and go to fun places. Being a member of A Girl's World means that you go to club meetings twice a month and do fun activities to put on the web. It also means to help make a difference for girls all over the world. I like the fact that my book was written by girls from all over the world. The biggest challenge that I've faced while editing my book was meeting deadlines. My advice to girls that want to be writers is don't give up. My dream for the future is that boys and girls will be more equal. The thing I like most about being a girl today is that we have more opportunities in life than our female ancestors did.
