AGW'S HOLLYWOOD REVIEW CREW PRESENTS
Christina, 13, of California, one of our "Hollywood Preview Crew", got
to go to a screening of a fun new film! Here are Christina's thoughts
on COYOTE UGLY
In the new film COYOTE UGLY, a small-time girl
(Piper Perabo) has dreams of becoming a songwriter. She decides to leave
her home, friends and
father to move to New York where she can concentrate on her dream. Her
best
friend is very supportive of this important decision. Her father, on
the
other hand, is not quite as supportive. He doesn't want his little girl
to
move to New York, known as such a dangerous place, and be all alone.
She
finally convinces him that she will be alright and she goes off to the
big
city. While in New York, she lives in a small rundown apartment in a
bad
part of town. She practices her music every night on the rooftop of her
building, makes a demo tape and goes around town trying to be
discovered.
But her music career doesn't exactly go according to plan. She gets
turned
down everywhere she goes.
While in the process of distributing her tapes, she meets a cute guy
posing as a music manager. Even though he's not really who he is
pretending to be, he ends up helping her deal with a lot of things (one
of them being stagefright) and he becomes very important to this story.
Meanwhile, she is looking for a job to bring her cash to live on and
ends up at the door of the Coyote Club, a wild place where the
bartenders (known as Coyotes) dance on the bar and get everybody in the
place riled up. Does
she end up as a Coyote or a famous songwriter? To find out go see the
movie.
I think COYOTE UGLY was one of the best movies of the summer. It was
funny, cute
and exciting all at the same time. Any trailers you might have seen are
very misleading. This movie was more than just girls dancing in a bar,
it actually had an interesting story about following your dreams and
finding love along the way. Worth seeing when it comes to your area!
(Editor's note: The website really rocks too!).
COYOTE UGLY opens August 4th
This movie is rated "PG-13"
