AGW Entertainment reporter Renee W. saw a new animated family film...

FINDING NEMO

Disney/Pixar

Finding Nemo is the story of a broken family of clown fish. Marlin's wife, Coral, died trying to protect the couple's eggs from a barracuda. Only one damaged egg survived. Ever since, Marlin has become afraid of the ocean, especially open waters outside the reef.

Marlin's son, Nemo, has grown up with a smaller fin than normal, a result of the damage to his egg. On Nemo's first day of school, the class is taken to the drop off, the same place where Nemo's mother was killed. Marlin panics and chases after the class. While at the drop off, Nemo goes with his friends to the edge of the open water and find a boat. They have a contest to see who will go the closest to the boat. Marlin barges in and tells Nemo that that he can't do anything because of his fin. Nemo gets angry and swims off to touch the boat.

While out there, Nemo is caught by a diver and taken into the boat. Marlin swims after the boat but he can't keep up. Marlin meets up with Dory, a blue fish with short term memory loss who can read human writing. Marlin reluctantly teams up with her to find and save Nemo. Thus begins his search for Nemo.

Along their journey, Marlin and Dory meet a wild array of characters from surfer turtles to reformed vegetarian sharks to fish-friendly pelicans. Many laughs, surprises and jolts await you along this genuinely heart-warming story of parental love and dedication.

Anyone of any age can enjoy this story. I'm fifteen and I loved it. My mother is 45 and she enjoyed it thoroughly. I think an age range of 4 and up fits. For a children's story I give this movie 4.5 stars out of 5.
