WHERE THE HEART IS
InWHERE THE HEART IS Novalee Nation, (Natalie Portman)17
and very pregnant, was abandoned by her mother as a child and has lived in
foster homes. Her selfish, musician boyfriend Willy Jack leaves her pregnant,
alone and broke at a Wal-Mart in Oklahoma while they're driving cross country.
She hides and lives in the store for a while and, with the help of a kind local
guy named Forney, delivers her baby at the store!
Over the next few years, Novalee meets and becomes
friends with the locals who support her efforts to become a photographer and
stand on her own. With the help of these strangers who become friends, Novalee
finds strength, pride and falls for Forney, the strange but sweet man who
delivered her baby.
I liked this movie because it shows how finding
true, helpful friends can turn your life around. My favorite character (besides
Novalee) was Lexie (Ashley Judd) Novalee's best new friend because she manages
to raise her children and have hope no matter what horrible things happen to
her. I'd recommend this film for girls 13 and up.
WHERE THE HEART IS opens April 28th This movie is rated PG-13
