Viva Las Vegas!
Our Girl Reporter was There! During this cold, cold week in Ontario, Canada I had the incredible opportunity to visit one of the many great destinations in the U.S.-Las Vegas! Here are just some of the great things to do! The
Bellagio Hotel:Inside the hotel lobby are these huge colored glass flowers on the ceiling sticking down. And beside the lobby is the conservatory, filled with all these wonderful flowers such as tulips, orchids, carnations, daisies, and so much more. On the outside, there is a huge water front! It was man-made and cost a fortune to put together. At night time, we get to see the amazing Water Show. The watershow shoots out in different patterns, and flows with songs like "Time To Say Goodbye", with Sarah Brightman and Andrea Boceli. Caesar's Palace Hotel: Wow! There are forum shops, which are almost like a mini-mall. There is a gigantic toy store with three floors including sections like Tech, Barbie, Baby Dolls, Magic, Animals, Beanie Babies, and so much more! We almost didn't have enough time to explore it all, and we stayed most of our time at that toy store. The front of the toy store has a huge toy horse, the size of the three floors. Also in the forum shops, there is an enormous fountain. Every half hour there is a show there, of talking statues. The water changes color and there are moving robots in the form of gods or goddesses, that speak and tell the beginning of the Race to Atlantis story. In the show, Zeus is deciding which of his children will take over the throne. Circus Circus Hotel: The front is pink and the lights look like balloons, and there are clowns everywhere. There are midway games, like dart-shooting, SkeeBall, Water Guns, Knock off, all kinds of games. You can win tons of cute stuffed animals. There are also Circus Acts every hour, with trapeze artists, talented clowns, musicians, trampoline jumpers... Excalibur hotel: This hotel is in the shape of a magical castle! Inside there are 3-D ride theatres, more midway games, a musical show and parade and Merlin and the Dragon show. The inside is based on medieval times, and they also have dragons and wizards! Venetian Hotel: Wow! Long, huge corridors and halls with pillars and it looks very sophisticated! There, I watched the "Melinda, First Lady Of Magic" show! It was really incredible! There were energetic dancers and fun twists to the magic, and there were guests like people from the audience, and drummers from Mexico, who played really well and were absolutely hilarious! Aladdin Hotel: There are really cool shops there like Gap, Build-A-Bear Factory, and Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Shop! There are belly dancers that perform there for free, and also outside the hotel you can take pictures with a "Genie Girl"! Flamingo Hilton Hotel: There are mostly slot machines and roulette tables here ;) but in the back, there is a huge swimming pool with slides and waterfalls, and right beside the pool are more waterfalls, penguins, fish, and flamingoes! MGM Grand hotel: There is a huge gold lion with sparkling eyes beside the entrance. There are really cool shops like Photo Magic, where you can use one of the pictures there and put in your head, and get your photos taken with N Sync, Britney Spears, or even Ricky Martin! There is a cool magnet store (where I bought a convincingly-real cellphone) and also a fudge store...yum! Paris Hotel: The Paris hotel has a French accent to it, and has a replica of the Eiffel Tower, and you can actually go up to the top! There are lots of cool shops and restaurants, too! New
York, New York hotel:They have the replica of the Statue of Liberty, a HUGE HUGE thrilling roller coaster that goes in and out of the building, really great restaurants (and the best pizza I've ever tasted!). There are also lots of other hotels with different attractions! There is a mall called Boulevard Mall off the Strip (where all the main hotels are), and a Laser Light show downtown. There are lots of escalators, monorails, bridges, and elevators to get from one place to another, to make it easier to walk. At the Mirage there is a fake volcano beside a waterfall, and it shoots out fire and lava and ash! At Treasure Island, there's a short show with pirates and ships and the effects are really special and the boat even sinks...and then it comes back up again!!! Amazing.. Come visit Las Vegas soon!! Las Vegas was an exciting adventure for me, I hope you can say the same, too! Tiffany, 12, Canada |
