AGW Review of
Prince Caspian

OK. So, you remember at the end of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, our four heroes left Narnia and went back to England. They took up their normal lives as if nothing had happened - no one had even noticed they were gone for what seemed like 14 years to them. Apparently time passes very differently in Narnia than it does in our world.

And this key point is where this book starts. It's been one year for Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie since they left. They're waiting at a train station for trains back to their boarding schools. And suddenly, Narnia comes crashing in on them again.

But something's happened in Narnia. Things have changed - their castle is in ruins, and the magical creatures are in hiding, threatened by a race of humans called the Telmarines who are now in charge. After all, a lot can happen in 1300 years! Because that's how long it's been for Narnia since the four Pevensies disappeared from that world.

Then there's Prince Caspian. He's got a wicked uncle who'd really rather have him dead, and he's finding out that he doesn't know the whole truth about Narnia. The magic is real, and so is Aslan and the creatures he's been told are myths. He's not a happy camper at all.

In the middle of all of this, it's just inevitable that the Pevensies and Prince Caspian will find each other. The story of how that happens, and what they do about the situation in Narnia is a fantastic tale, and a great read. If you like fantasy, and tales of justice being done to the bad guys, this is your book!
