Hanson is a great band made up of three brothers; Zac (12), Taylor (14) and Isaac (17). They started out when Zac was six, Tay was eight, and Ike was 11, in 1992. Initially Ike and Tay were singing together, but they thought they sounded awful so they asked Zac to sing with them!

The three of them had been listening to rock music since they were babies. Their mother had a habit of singing while she worked around the house, and old rock bands like The Jackson Five inspired them. Ike started writing songs when he was nine. Hanson was first named The Hanson Brothers, but when people started mistaking them for "The Handsome Brothers" they decided to call themselves Hanson. The three brothers loved to sing and afterwards bought themselves instruments from a pawn shop close to their house. They picked up playing drums, keyboards and guitars easily, and their parents were VERY proud of them!

After three years, the band was established. Hanson performed in over 300 places and were appreciated by everyone. Once they performed for a bar in their home town, but they had to stay outside because they were too young! (But I heard people came outside to see them!!) The brothers never went to school! They were home-schooled by their mother, and later on by a tutor, Ashley. And according to Taylor, "I don't think I'd like to go to school anyway. My friends go to school and they complain alot!"

In 1997, Hanson released their first debut album called the Middle Of Nowhere, and an 82 minute-long home video called Tulsa, Tokyo and The Middle Of Nowhere. Fans love their new Christmas album, Snowed In. The Hansons say they don't care whether it's a big hit or a flop, they just had fun making it!

By now you should know the band Hanson, a band with 3 main members, Ike(17), Taylor(15) & Zac(12). These musical masters have had 4 hits at #1 so far! Mmmbop, Where's the Love?, I Will Come to You & their latest single out, Weird. All of the above songs are from their 3rd (but most well recognised) album Middle of Nowhere.

Some people reckon that they are "girls" when they see them at a first glance (because of their hair and gorgeous features).

But they're mostly known as "The boys from nowhere," a saying that isn't quite true. The boys come from Tulsa, Oklahoma in America. A town of hills and flatness right in the heart of "Tornado Territory." But the baby of the group, Zac, says "We're not afraid of tornadoes, they have never hit here before, and basically we are never at home any more with all our tours."

Hanson Facts:

• 3 Car Garage...an earlier, independent label album
  is being released again for Hanson's new fans.
  
  
• Clarke Isaac Hanson (Ike) is 17 now and will be 18 on November 17, 1998.
• He is the oldest Hanson in the group and of the 7 Hanson children.
• Ike is 5'10" and has brown eyes and very dark golden hair. He is the guitarist.
  
  
• Jordan Taylor Hanson (Tay/Taylor) is now 15, which he turned on March 14 of this year. When they were little his brothers and sisters called him Taybear.
• Tay has baby blue eyes and bright blonde hair which he wears in a a long rat-tail that he has grown for 3-4 years.
• Tay is 5'8". He is the main vocalist and plays the keyboard.
  
  
• The often referred to "baby of the group," Zachary Walker Hanson, is 12, a teenager on October 22, 1998.
• He is 5'3" with blonde hair and brown eyes.
• He is the drummer and nicknamed "Animal" or "Wacko."
  
  
• The not so well known Hansons? Zoe, 2 months old, Mackenzie, 3, Avery, 7, and Jessica, 9.
