We're Hangin' With..... JENNIFER ANISTON by: Lynn B. She's
our "Friend", she's married to one of Hollywood's hottest hunks
and she's moving from t.v. to film with great success. The usually open
Jennifer Aniston is at that career point where she can choose to refuse
to answer a lot of press questions but she is refreshingly, still candid,
friendly and willing to let us into her world to talk about Brad, working
with crazy boy Jim Carrey and becoming a mom some day. AGW: How do you feel about being one of the 50 Most Beautiful people in People magazine? Jennifer: I want to know why there are only 50. There's a lot of pretty people out there. I don't really know anything about that. It's fine. It's nice you know. AGW: What was it like working with Jim Carrey? Jennifer:
I just watched the master at work. He said that my stillness was anchoring
him but it was out of fear of what am I doing?. How am I going to match
up and volley with Jim Carrey? I am enamored with him and think he's fascinating
to watch. His process is complicated but he cares so much. His whole body
and soul is in this movie. He took physical comedy and brought it to a
whole new level for me. I had bruises and rug burns and was thrown across
rooms. You didn't know what to expect. Jennifer: That was me. Everything is me. There's never a stunt person. You start the day and Jim says 'Have you ever done a wrestling flip?' No, do I look like someone who has done a wrestling flip? He says 'It's going to be hilarious and I'm going to put my hand here and you're going to flip'. For some reason you just say yes. AGW: We heard Jim's version but what went on with that report that Jim saved your life on set? Jennifer: A big screen that they had over the grassy area that was shading the sun started falling on extras. I wasn't even there. I was off to the side but Jim went in there to check and see. It knocked a whole tree over and it was a windy day. All of these people went screaming out of the way. AGW: This film has a lot of heart and spirituality. Do you think about those issues? Jennifer:
I'm not a religious person but I hope to consider myself a spiritual person
whatever that means to the individual. That's why I liked the idea of
what this movie was saying. Jennifer:
The show is ending because the show is old. Meaning we're old. It's been
10 years and that's plenty. How many times can you go back to a coffee
house as you're entering your 30's? It just feels like it's done and played
itself beautifully till the end. It's better to go out with people still
loving us. I'm ready and I would love to start my family when it's done.
That's what I'd like to do. Jennifer: I am patient. I am a nurturer, oh my gosh to a fault I'm sure. I'm a worrier to a fault. I'm patient to a point. AGW:
When Brad is shooting far away (like Malta on his Alexander the Great
film) how do you keep the relationship alive? AGW: Is it cool, though, to know that you have enough money to just fly to Malta anytime you want to or buy gifts for all your friends? Jennifer: It's sort of such a very slow transition. I came from a place with no money. We weren't rich at all. Until my dad started working on soap operas he was a door to door salesman so it's definitely a different lifestyle than I grew up with where I had to worry. When I grew up, my mom and I would go to eat and I couldn't order a soda. It was definitely a shift and that's why I love treating people and I love buying gifts for people. Not that I'm extravagant at all but I love to do that and it makes me happy, I think it's amazing not to have to think about that and not a day goes by that I don't think about it. AGW: You've said that Brad taught you to go with the flow. Was he always like that or did you learn that together? Jennifer: I think we learned it together. I think we learned it when we met. Trust in whatever the big picture is. We'll remind each other. There are certain things I'll get worked up about and he will ground me. It's sort of good balancing. AGW:
We've also heard that you have a crush on Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters.
True? AGW: Is music important in your life?
AGW: When you are listening to music, who, other than Foo Fighters, do you like to listen to? Jennifer: I've been loving Missy Elliott. I also love when you go through periods where you listen to old music. I love that Jackson Browne song "Doctor, My Eyes" AGW:
Do you still have Karaoke nights with your friends? AGW: Do you have a must see TV schedule for yourself? Jennifer: I can't say that I've done "American Idol" like everybody else but I loved "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here". I loved how shocked they were at what was happening to them. Melissa [Rivers] was so offended that they were getting messed with. What did you think was about to happen? That was hysterical. Then there was "Hot or Not Hot" and I went 'ok we've reached an all time low. I can't watch this one' so that one I turned off. I'm a reality TV fan and I also like the Discovery channel and Biographies. AGW: Is it bittersweet to say goodbye to Rachel? Jennifer:
Oh it's going to tear me apart to say goodbye. It's been a part of me
for so long, for almost ten years. I can't even imagine it. I'm the weeper.
Someone asked how I would like the show to end and I didn't even answer
the question because I was just thinking 'it's the end'. |
