May 2003 Hi! I'm Angela. Welcome to my page! I'm a member of the AGW Girlsworld Crew and I share this spot with my sister, Gina. We mostly get along 15/4. It's a good thing we have separate bedrooms, so it's going to be a real experiment trying to share one webpage. Anyhow, this is what I was up to this month.... This past month was kind of sad because I had to sign songs at a funeral for a 17 year old boy whose parents were deaf. He died of cancer. We signed "Home Free" and "I Can Only Imagine." I also got to go to a Leadership Conference sponsored by Rotary International. It was a weekend away from home with 250 other high school students and a few brave parents and monitors. While I was there, we had amazing guest speakers and played games. My favorite speaker was Alex Montoya who is a triplegic (missing three limbs). He told us that the five most important things were: Faith, Family, Friends, Focus and Fun. I thought that was pretty cool. The other quote I thought was funny was "Chicken is goals, mashed potatoes are courage and Pepsi is attitude." I don't know what it means but I liked it. The big event I want to tell you about -- I got a car! It's a green mini-SUV that is really fun to drive. I just took driver training, and I'm doing behind the wheel right now. Pretty soon I'll have my license. YAY! My favorite spot on our site is "Hanging With". Be sure to read the interview with Jennifer Aniston . I hope everybody has a great month and has as much fun on the website as we have working on it.
Hi, I'm Gina, Angela's sister. I've been working with Angela on A Girl's World for seven years. Doesn't seem that long, it's really fun. This is what's been happening this month. I went to our brother, Kevin's soccer banquet. He got "Boys Soccer Player of the Year" and three other awards. I'm proud of him because he's hearing impaired and has achieved a lot. I went to an elementary school to sign Disney songs for the kids there. I learned how to sign so I could talk to my sister and nobody would know what we're saying. (We talked the whole soccer banquet and no one knew it because they couldn't hear anything. That was cool. We could make comments about what they were saying and no one would be offended.) Three weeks ago, I had to turn in a research paper that was 30% of our grade in English and History. Now I have a big weight off my back getting that finished. High School is really different from Middle School. We only meet for A Girl's World once a month now because there just isn't enough time with homework and soccer and clubs at school. I'm part of a service club, so we helped at an Easter Egg hunt for kids aged 2-8. There was a decorated bonnet contest that was so cute because we had to lead some of the little kids across the stage. One of the hats looked like an open egg. There were peeps inside sitting in a pile of grass. Next to the peeps was Spongebob Squarepants. That hat won for funniest. I'm looking forward to helping judge the Mother's Day Contest this year. So please be sure to enter your Mom in the Coolest, Funniest,or Bravest Category. Later!
