Curious? Try Collecting!

Why are collections so much fun? Maybe it's the hunt for that hidden treasure at garage sales. Or the big grin you get when people give you what you like.

Maybe it's about curiosity. Maybe collecting is like being an explorer. Or an archaeologist. Whatever the reason you collect, collections say a lot about who you are. What you love. What you like for your birthday, or holidays.

Some people like to collect very small things. Small toys, miniature furniture, teapots like these. Miniatures gathered together on a bookshelf or mounted in a frame make a great display.

Collecting Paper

Stamps and stickers are fun to collect because there's so many different kinds. You can collect famous people like sports stars, or stamps from other countries. You can collect stamps or stickers of one kind, like all peaches, or color, or design. Other fun paper things to collect include greeting cards, game cards (like Magic the Gathering), baseball cards, postcards, playing cards, or programs from places you visit or things you've done.

Collecting Themes

Some girls like to collect statues from Breyer Horses, or dolls like Barbie, or porcelain princesses like these from Lenox. You can collect anything you find beautiful or interesting...braids, ribbons, laces, buttons, buckles, bottles, shells, leaves, feathers.

Want an easy way to remember all the cool places you've traveled? Collect refrigerator magnets.

Whatever you collect, from stuffed animals to seashells, Collecting can bring you a lot of joy over the years. It's a really cool activity. If you haven't started a collection yet, we hope this inspires you to find something you love. Have fun collecting!
