Hello Chicas! And welcome to Chelsey's Homepage Builder! This is a quick and easy step-by-step guide on how to make your own homepage! First of all, what I did was look for free homepage ads. Here's what came up:

If you can find other places, GREAT!

The webpage for free homepages also has a simple, step-by-step process for you to follow. You will have to give certain information, none of which will be shown to ANYONE else except the owners of the webpage who will make your page.

Then they will e-mail you a password. Make sure to write down your password so that you don't forget it! And make sure that you never tell anyone your password. They will ask you to choose a directory name, so make sure that you write it down too! You will need your password and your directory name to edit your page when necessary. Then they will take you to a basic editor. There is where you can choose backround colours, and add links, lists, your e-mail addy, etc!

Once that is finished then you can view your page. If you like what you see, then submit it! If you think that you need to change something, press BACK on your tool bar and make the changes.

Webpage Hosting -- is it free?

Some webhosting providers give up to ten megs of storage on their website for your own homepage. But it's not really free. They put advertising banners on each of your pages. Some of these ads mug your visitors by forcing them to go look at the advertising first. You have to click the ad away, sometimes again and again before you get to read the home page you want! Some ads pop up on every page or follow you back to the next page you browse. Some places lurk -- they watch what you do and where you click when you surf or record what you say and talk about when you chat for free and then sell that information to advertisers. How does this work? They don't ask, but they sneak a program called a "cookie" onto your computer to keep track of you and where you go next on the web. These are things A Girl's World does not do because we think your privacy is important.

The lurking and the ads can get really annoying. But the good part is that it is possible for you to get a homepage without putting any cash on the line.
