Anywhere Fun: String Figures

Making string figures is a lot of fun! It's something you can do on the bus on the way to a school band performance when you are bored. Or you can do it sitting around a campfire with your family. I like to tell string stories when I babysit my nephews and neighbors. I take classic fairy fairy tales and make string figures to bring your story to life! Little kids are totally in love with them. Here's the best website on the Internet for learning how to make string figures. It's called The Kids Guide to Easy String Figures.

You can learn cats cradle, a fun game for two kids.

You can even meet famous storytellers who use string art to help tell their stories, like Barbara Schutzgruber from Michigan. Maybe you can find a string storyteller in your area.
