I Didn't Kiss Him!

I am having trouble with kissing a guy. I am in the seventh grade and have never kissed anyone before, but all my friends have and they are younger than me! My boyfriend just recently broke up with me because I wouldn't make-out with him, but he didn't even give me any signs that he wanted me to. I never really ask guys out - they always ask me. So I never put the first move on a guy. Is that a problem? - Kylee, 13, USA

"Hey, Kylee!'" I have never kissed a guy before, yet I'm only 12 (turning 13 in March). But I think that if your boyfriend broke up with you because you wouldn't make out with him, than he probably wasn't right for you or you need to have a talk with him. Just because you didn't make out with him is not a reason to break up. Maybe you didn't want to make out with him or didn't feel right or ready to do that. He should understand whatever your reason was, whether you didn't want to, or didn't know he wanted to make out.

Don't worry about it. Like the saying goes, "There are plenty of fish in the sea". In other words, you'll meet plenty of more guys you like. After all, you're still just a kid. Or teenager.

Hope I could help.
