He Might Be a Pothead; What Do I Do?

I have a crush on this guy who's in my math and english classes, and he seems really smart and sweet. My older sister is friends with his older sister and she says he's a pothead. I don't do drugs. I don'tknow whether or not to ask him out because he supposedly is a pothead. What should I do? - Nadia, 14, Colorado

"Hey, Nadia!" Wow! This must be a really hard situation for you!

First of all, I wouldn't depend on the words of someone else. Find out for yourself if this guy really is a pothead. Get to know him more before you jump into asking him out. Become his friend, and if it seems he really is a pothead, then you probably don't want to go out with this guy.

You don't want to get mixed up with the wrong people. Don't let anyone ruin your drug-free reputation, but if you find out that this boy isn't a pothead, then I say go for it! Just be cautious. If you notice that he is a pothead, then you should probably break it off.

The best advice I can give you is to just find out for YOURSELF whether he is a pothead or not. Take time to find out who he really is before asking him out.
