I'm So Shy Around Guys!

OK, I am the shy kinda type around boys. How do I tell a guy I like him a lot... I have problems doing that. And I don't wanna ask a friend to ask him because it seems kinda dorky! I need help! - Ashley, 13, Wisconsin

"Hey, Ashley!'" You're so right: making a friend go up to some boy to tell them what you think about them is definitely dinky! As kooky as this may sound, it's generally better not to tell boys that you "like them," at all.

Chances are, that boy you like won't shout, "OH MY GOSH! You LIKE me!? I soooo like you, too!" Right!? (I mean, we both know what 13 year-old boys are like) What's best to do is simply become his friend. Little things, like saying "Hi" to him will lead up to getting to know him more. That's when you can see if you really are "in love with him." (-: By then, you might be thanking your stars you didn't blurt out something you didn't mean, OR the guy will know what you think of him, without you risking your integrity.
