I Get So Jealous of My Friend! I have a friend who I have known since I was five. She is a great friend but sometimes I get jealous of her, because of her straight blond hair and she is extra skinny. I am not fat but she is skinnier. Also she can wear belly button things, short shorts, and skinny straps. She can also wear nails to school. And I have grown up in a family of six kids so I can't get a lot of stuff, but she gets spoiled rotten. I wish that I could be like her sometimes. I do situps every night to be like her and I tell myself all the time to not worry how you look, but then when I spend time with her I get so jealous and that makes us fight a lot. What do you think I should do about this? - Molly, 11, USA "Hey, Molly!" I know exactly how you feel 'cause I've been there. First of all, you should keep in mind that you and your friend are two totally different people (at least on the outside). While people like you and me may try very hard to stay skinny and look great, for your friend it might come naturally. As long as she doesn't dress that way to purposely put you down or show off her beauty, don't be too worried about your friendship. But, if you notice anything like that happening, sharing your feelings with her will probably help. She may even be willing to give you some tips to look better. In your own way of course. Instead of trying to be just like her, you could try looking better in a different way --- Your way! Just remember this: YOU ARE YOU! And be proud of that!
