How Do I Cope with His Death?

I just learned yesterday that one of my favourite uncles has terminal cancer on his liver and kidneys, and has about three months to live. I'm really depressed about it. Any ideas about dealing with an upcoming death
of someone close to you? - Chloe, 15, Canada

"Hey, Chloe!" Dear Chloe, how are you and your uncle? Maybe it has been over three
months since you posted the message. We get hundreds of questions everyday, so it is rather time-consuming to get the work done. Anyway, I don't know for how long this message had been in the pile. I hope I'm not too late to help you. Death is not a happy thing for most of us; it changes everything. Some people believe in the life after death, but coping with the death of our loved ones can feel like the hardest moment in life. We all know that when somebody dies, he/she will go forever. So, I suggest that you spend some private time together with your uncle. Both of you can tell stories, look at photos and share memories of the past. It is also recommended for you to do things he enjoys with him. Apologize for whatever you did wrong before. However, if possible, do not cry in front of him. It is not wrong to be sad, but do not fall apart. Just imagine how he will suffer to see the people he loves all cry for him, not letting him go.Try not to make him worry about your feeling. Show him that you can take care of yourself and carry on life after his death. In every little thing you do, I hope you can make him feel that you care that you appreciate his existence. If the doctors' prediction is true, you certainly don't have much time left.

Good luck.
